Organization Units
Purpose
In Organizational Units management page, you can manage(add/update/delete) organization unit, its association details and dependencies. You can also manage its performance measures.
In this page, you can add new Organization Unit or select any existing Organization Unit and manage its details. These Details includes –
- Core Attributes
- Organization Unit Hierarchy
- Locations
- Peoples
- Organization Unit associations
- Performance Measures
- Scoring Performance Metrics
Layout & Navigation
The page is organized into three sections or panels.
Navigation section
First Panel/Section is navigation panel where you can add new organization unit or select any existing organization unit to manage its data.
In this panel, you can add new organization unit by selecting ‘Add a New Organization Unit’ option. By clicking on it, it will open a popup window asking for basic organization unit details. By setting these details you can add new organization unit.
To select any existing organization unit, you have two options available in this panel. Those options are displayed in two separate sub-sections within this panel and those sub-sections are –
- Organization Units (Collection View)
- In this sub-section, Organization Units are displayed as collection view. You can load organization unit based navigation method (by Organization Unit Type, By Accountability Type) of Collection View.
- You can select any organization unit from tree-view and manage its data.
- Organization Units (List View)
- In this sub-section, we simply load all organization units and you can select any organization unit from the list.
- You can search any specific organization unit in “Search Organization Units” textbox.
Information section
The second panel includes choices on the types of information about the Organization Unit. Select one or more of these choices to see the information in the third panel.
You must select Organization Unit before any of the information about the Organization Unit can be displayed.
If you want to see the similar information about another Organization Unit, select another Organization Unit from the navigation panel. You can select a single item at a time to see and manage selected information in third panel. This list is configured by system. You may not able to see one or more if you don’t have access to see them.
Information Management section
Third panel displays all selected information (from second panel) regarding Organization Unit.
If you want to see the same type of information about another Organization Unit, select Organization Unit from the navigation panel while keeping the same information choices selected in the second panel.
Each information item/Activity is explained below.
Core Attributes
Purpose: Displays form to manage various core attributes of selected Organization Unit.
Detail:
- You can update core details like Name, Display Name, Accountability Type, Org Unit Type and others.
- If you want to reset updated information, you can do this by Cancel button.

Extended Attributes
Purpose: Displays grid to manage various extended attributes of selected organization unit.
Detail:
- This grid is displayed just after above Core Attributes form. It is displayed only when there are attributes defined for organization unit.

Org Unit Hierarchy
Purpose: Displays grid to manage Org Unit Hierarchy of selected organization unit.
Detail:
- You can add/update/delete hierarchy of selected organization unit.
- One or more organization unit is dependent on selected organization unit.
- Selected organization unit may contains multiple child organization unit or selected organization unit may be a child organization unit of another organization units.
- Click on “New” link available on grid header, open a pop up and in that pop up, we are displaying another grid which have searching and soring functionality. Grid Data in pop up contains the data for unassigned/unassociated organization units with selected organization, you can select multiple organization units from grid. Once you associate/assign organization unit with organization unit then it will not display in grid.
- Using the column chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop fields/columns from grid. You can see more grid columns by using grid’s column chooser functionality.

Locations
Purpose: Displays grid to manage Location of selected organization unit.
Detail:
- You can add/update/delete locations of selected organization unit.
- You can associate one or more locations with selected organization unit.
- Click on “New” link available on grid header, open a pop up and in that pop up, we are displaying another grid which have searching and soring functionality. Grid Data in pop up contains the data for unassigned/unassociated locations with selected organization, you can select multiple locations from grid. Peoples
Purpose: Displays grid to manage Peoples of selected organization unit.
Detail:
- You can add/update/delete peoples of selected organization unit.
- You can associate one or more peoples with selected organization unit.
- Click on “New” link available on grid header, open a pop up and in that pop up, we are displaying another grid which have searching and soring functionality. Grid Data in pop up contains the data for unassigned/unassociated Peoples with selected organization, you can select multiple peoples from grid. Once you associate/assign people with organization unit then it will not display in grid again.

Organization Unit associations Purpose: Displays grid to manage organization unit associations of selected organization unit. Detail: You can add/update/delete organization unit association with selected organization unit. Selected organization unit may associate with multiple organization unit. You cannot associate same organization unit more than once with selected organization unit.

Performance Measures
Purpose: Displays grid to manage Measures of selected organization unit.
Detail:
- You can add/update/delete Measure for selected organization unit.
- One organization unit may contain multiple measures.
- Click on “New” link available on grid header, open a pop up and in that pop up, we are displaying another grid which have searching and soring functionality. Grid Data in pop up contains the data for unassigned/unassociated Measures with selected organization unit, you can select multiple measures from grid. Once you associate/assign measure with organization unit then it will not display in grid again.

Scoring Performance Metrics

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Why extended attributes grid not displays along with core attributes form?
A: We display extended attributes grid only when there are attributes defined for organization unit.
Q2: Why some of organization unit displayed in list view but not in collection view?
A: We display only those organization unit in collection view which have Organization Unit Type/Accountability Type assigned. We don’t list those organization units which don’t have Organization Unit Type/ Accountability Type. That’s why newly added organization will not be displayed in collection view.
