Technology Page

Technology Page provides details of various Technologies. It provides the information about technology core attributes, technology versions, technology extended attributes, technology governance, technology associations and its dependencies, technology measures and technology assessment details.

The page is organized into three sections or panels. First Panel (Navigation Panel)

• The first panel is a Navigation Panel to select a Technology of interests using various methods available in the panel.
• Option 1: Using the Navigation Tree
  • If there are multiple types of Technology available, you may select one or more types from the “Focus On” to narrow or expand the list of Technologies to choose from.
  • Select the collection and then navigate through the tree to find the Technology you are interested in.
• Option 2: Using the List View
  • Select the Technology from the list, or
  • Use the search to narrow down the list.

Second Panel (Information Panel)

• The second panel includes choices on the types of information about the Technology. Select one or more of these choices to see the information in the third panel. All selected items are displayed in the third panel in the order they were selected. Scroll down the third panel to see the information selected.
• You must select a Technology before any of the information about the Technology can be displayed.
• If you want to see the similar information about another Technology, select another Technology from the navigation panel.

Third Panel (Information Details)

• Third panel displays all selected information (from second panel) regarding Technology.
• If you want to see the same type of information about another Technology, select the Technology from the navigation panel while keeping the same information choices selected in the second panel.
• By default, in third panel, we are displaying selected Technology information. Using document icon provided in grid header, you can view/download all uploaded documents of selected Technology.

The titles of the page may be different than what are listed below. They may have been “personalized” for your organization.

Note: Based on the configuration and permissions, you may not see all heat maps on the page.

Purpose :You can view the core attributes of selected Technology. Core attributes contains the information of owner, architect, support manager of selected technology. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get core attributes because core attributes for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export core attributes information of selected Technology in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get core attributes for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view versions of selected technology. Technology Versions grid contains the information like versions of selected technology, extended attributes and life cycle for each version. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get technology versions because technology versions for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export grid data in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
By Default, data is group by technology versions of selected technology. You can expand each version to view its extended attributes and life cycle. You can get technology versions for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view governance details of selected technology. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get technology governance because technology governance for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• In Governance columns, cell color is based on governance color for that technology.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export grid data in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get technology governance for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view the extended attributes of selected Technology/Domain/Cluster.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export extended attributes of selected Technology/Domain/Cluster in excel format.

Purpose :You can view primarily details of selected technology. Details include Domain, Cluster and Category of technology. One Technology may associate with different clusters with different domains and category. Technology collection grid contains information about Domain, Cluster and Category of selected Technology. If you select Technology from Navigation tree then Collection grid contains the information of single category of selected Technology. If you select Technology from the List View then collection grid contains the information of all categories in which selected Technology belongs. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get collections because collection information for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• You can include/exclude rows from collection grid using filter icon provided in each column header.
• Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export service collections of selected Technology in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get collection information’s for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view dependencies of selected Technology. The Selected Technology may be parent or child service of other Technology. Technology dependencies grid display the information about all other technologies which are dependent on selected Technology and all other technologies on which selected technology is dependent. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get dependencies because dependencies for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export grid data of selected Technology in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get dependencies for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view Technology IT Service dependencies. Selected Technology is associated with one or more IT Services. The associations of Domain/Cluster and with services is not present.

Customization Options :

• You can include/exclude rows from grid using filter icon provided in each column header.
• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export grid data of selected Technology in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get services for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view Life cycles of technology versions for selected technology. If you select Domain/Cluster instead of technology from navigation tree then you cannot get life cycles because life cycles for Domain/Cluster is not available.

Customization Options :

• You can include/exclude rows from grid using filter icon provided in each column header.
• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export grid data of selected Technology in excel format.
• Cell background color of Life Cycle column is based on Life Cycle value.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get life cycle information by technology version. Selected technology may have one/more technology versions. You can get life cycles for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view life cycle information of selected technology as roadmap layout and data displayed quarterly for each year. Life Cycle Roadmap for Domain/Cluster is not present.

Customization Options :

• Color of cells displaying quarter information is based on life cycle of selected technology.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get life cycle road map for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can View licenses of selected Technology. License information includes, license type, renewal date, effective date, license count and license vendor. License information for domain/cluster is not present.

Customization Options :

• You can include/exclude rows from grid using filter icon provided in each column header.
• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export licenses data of selected Technology in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
You can get license information for selected technology but cannot get for domain/cluster.

Purpose :You can view capability maturity Summary (Maturity score) for selected technology/domain/cluster.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export maturity summary data in excel format.

Purpose :You can view the dependencies between the capabilities of selected Technology/Domain/Cluster. Use Input Dependencies to find out the capabilities supporting the selected Technology/Domain/Cluster. Knowing this can help you ensure close the gap in achieving desired level of maturity.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the input capability dependency grid data in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
By default, Input Capability Dependency grid data group by Capability set (Input dependent) for selected Technology/Domain/Cluster.

Purpose :You can view the dependencies between the capabilities for selected Technology/Domain/Cluster. Use Output Dependencies to know who is supported by this Technology/Domain/Cluster. Knowing this can help you demonstrate value to your customers or help you plan further improvements.

Customization Options :

• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the output capability dependency grid data in excel format.

Standard (default) Options :
By default, Output Capability Dependency grid data group by Capability set (Output dependent) for selected Technology/Domain/Cluster.

Purpose :You can view various charts of selected Technology/Domain/Cluster. These charts display information like summary of different objects (technologies) at various stage of lifecycles, details of governance and life cycle summary of technologies, comparative summary of technologies, summary of asset age details, distribution of assets by its age and technology lifecycle.

Customization Options :

• Using layout icons provided in grid header, you have options to select several types of layout in which charts will be loaded. Different Layouts are One, Two or three column layouts.
• You can view/select charts from drop down list provided in grid header.
• You can load each chart as a tile in grid section. You can drag/drop this tiles by selecting them from header and rearrange their display order. Display name of the chart in Tile header and on mouse hover of any tile will display three more options in Tile header. These options are –
  • Filters – By selecting this option, you can load filters available for that chart in a popup window. You can change filters, save or apply the filters and chart will be refreshed based on updated filters.
  • Clone chart – By selecting this option, will open popup asking details for clone chart that you can create for selected standard chart. Cloned chart will have same filter settings applied to the standard chart. Newly created cloned chart will be listed in Cloned Item section of first panel.
  • Preview Image – When this option is clicked, it will display selected chart having optimized size in a popup window. In this window, you have Print and Export features on header part of the window.

Standard (default) Options :
By default, three column layout is displayed in grid section.

Purpose :You can review the contribution or performance of the Technology/Domain/Cluster against the defined KPIs or measures.

Customization Options :

• Click or tap the trend line chart to see the expanded view of the chart.
• Using the setting icon to change select the date range for data to be included in the display.
• Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
• Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the grid data in excel format.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.

Standard (default) Options :
By default, KPI Summary section group by Measure for selected Technology/Domain/Cluster.

Purpose :You can view information of selected Technology/Domain/Cluster against other capability models

Customization Options :

• Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects, add/remove snapshots.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.

Standard (default) Options :

• By default, grid shows the assessment data of current year, previous year and next year.
• For snapshot columns, Color of cell is dependent on score (measure scale) displayed in cell.

Purpose :You can view comparison information of capability maturity assessments of multiple objects against select technology/domain/cluster. You can view assessment data at different level (Object/Capability Class/Capability/Capability Question) against technology for select Technology/Domain/Cluster.

Customization Options :

• Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects from comparison. You can set date range using “As-of-date” provided in filter.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.

Standard (default) Options :

• By default, grid shows the comparison of capability maturity assessment data for first three latest objects.

Purpose :You can view comparison information of selected technology/domain/cluster against other capability models

Customization Options :

• Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects, add/remove snapshots.
• Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.

Standard (default) Options :

• By default, grid shows the assessment data of current year, previous year and next year.

Purpose :You can export selected Technology details. You can export Technology Versions, Technology Life Cycles, Technology Governance, Technology Extended Attribute, Technology Associations and Dependency, Technology Capability Model and other information of selected Technology.

Customization Options :

• You can select/unselect multiple information from grid section to export their data.

Q: All information items described in this document is not displayed, why?

A: There can be two reasons. First, these items are not accessible to you. Second, it can be set hidden by your administrator.

• Tree map - a navigation layout, representing an hierarchy.
• Heat map - a color-coded map of items, organized into an hierarchy
