Capability Page
Purpose
The capability page provides an at-a-glance view of the information related to a capability in the model. The information may include capability maturity model, maturity levels over time, underlying practices, inbound and outbound dependencies, and various KPIs or measures associated with the capability.
Layout & Navigation
The page is organized into three sections or panels.
First Panel (Navigation Panel)
- The first panel is a Navigation Panel to select a capability set of interests using various methods available in the panel.
- Option 1: Using the Navigation Tree
- A capability model may have multiple views. Each view is represented as a collection. Select the collection and then navigate through the tree to find the capability set you are interested in.
- Option 2: Using the List View
- Select the capability set from the list, or
- Use the search to narrow down the list.
Second Panel (Information Panel)
- The second panel includes choices on the types of information about the capability set. Select one or more of these choices to see the information in the third panel. All selected items are displayed in the third panel in the order they were selected. Scroll down the third panel to see the information selected.
- You must select a capability set before any of the information about the capability set can be displayed.
- If you want to see the similar information about another capability set, select another capability set from the navigation panel.
Third Panel (Information Details)
- Third panel displays all selected information (from second panel) regarding capability set.
- If you want to see the same type of information about another capability set, select the capability set from the navigation panel while keeping the same information choices selected in the second panel.
- By default, in third panel, we are displaying selected capability set information in grid. Using document icon provided in grid header, you can view/download all uploaded documents of selected capability set.

Information Domains
<note warning>Based on the system configuration and access permissions, you may not see all the information domains of the selected capability. Some of the domains may have different labels in the panel.</note>
View Maturity Summary
Purpose: You can view the maturity level of selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
Customization Options
- Using the filter icon provided in summary grid header, you can select different time periods and assessment types.
- Using field chooser icon provided in summary grid header, you can drag and drop additional field in grid.
- Using the export to excel icon provide in grid header, you can export maturity level in excel format.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, maturity summary shows the latest maturity data of current year, previous year and next year.
View Maturity Detail
Purpose: You can view the information about all assessments which are conducted using selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
Customization Options
- Using field chooser icon provided in maturity detail grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.
- You can filter, sort, search and group grid data.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Maturity Detail grid data group by Assessment Type and Snapshots
View Capability Maturity Model
Purpose: You can view the capability maturity model for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster. Capability Maturity Model contains the information like Capability Class, Capabilities of Capability Class and maturity level of capability.
Customization Options
- Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
- Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the capability maturity model in excel format.
- You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Capability Maturity Model data group by Capability Class
View Capability Questions
Purpose: You can view the capability questions of selected capability set/Domain/Cluster. Capability Questions grid contains the information about Capability Class, Capabilities of Capability Class, Capability Questions of Capability and Capability maturity level of capability questions.
Customization Options

- You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Capability Questions grid data group by Capability Class and Capability
View Capability Practices
Purpose: You can view the capability practices of each maturity level of capability for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster. Capability Practices grid contains the information about Capability Class, Capabilities of capability class and capability practices of capability for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.

View Capability POMs (Practice-Outcome-Metrics)
Purpose: You can view the practice description, Outcome description, Metrics description of capability practices for each maturity level of capability for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.

- You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Capability POMS grid data group by Capability Class and Capability for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
View Capability Question Practices
Purpose: You can view the capability question practices for each maturity level of capability question for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster. Capability Practices grid contains the information about Capability Class, Capabilities of capability class, Capability Questions of Capability and capability practices of capability question for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.

View Capability Question POMs (Practice-Outcome-Metrics)
Purpose: You can view the practice description, Outcome description, Metrics description of capability practices for each maturity level of capability question for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.

- You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Capability Question POMS grid data group by Capability Class, Capability and Capability Question for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
View Input Capability Dependency
Purpose: You can view the dependencies between the capabilities. Use Input Dependencies to find out the capabilities supporting the selected capability/Domain/Cluster. Knowing this can help you ensure close the gap in achieving desired level of maturity.

- You can set page size and navigate to next/previous record using navigation provided in grid.
- Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the input capability dependency grid data in excel format.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, Input Capability Dependency grid data group by Capability set (Input dependent) for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
View Output Capability Dependency
Purpose: You can view the dependencies between the capabilities. Use Output Dependencies to know who is supported by this capability/Domain/Cluster. Knowing this can help you demonstrate value to your customers or help you plan further improvements.

- Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the output capability dependency grid data in excel format.

- By default, Output Capability Dependency grid data group by Capability set (Output dependent) for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
View Dashboard
Purpose: You can view various charts of Capability Set. These charts show maturity levels and importance across snapshots, maturity gap across snapshots, Maturity vs importance map, comparison of various capabilities across snapshots, summary of maturity Distribution and Gap.
Customization Options
- Using layout icons provided in grid header, you have options to select several types of layout in which charts will be loaded. Different Layouts are One, Two or three column layouts.
- You can view/select charts from drop down list provided in grid header.
- You can load each chart as a tile in grid section. You can drag/drop this tiles by selecting them from header and rearrange their display order. Display name of the chart in Tile header and on mouse hover of any tile will display three more options in Tile header. These options are –
- Filters – By selecting this option, you can load filters available for that chart in a popup window. You can change filters, save or apply the filters and chart will be refreshed based on updated filters.
- Clone chart – By selecting this option, will open popup asking details for clone chart that you can create for selected standard chart. Cloned chart will have same filter settings applied to the standard chart. Newly created cloned chart will be listed in Cloned Item section of first panel.
- Preview Image – When this option is clicked, it will display selected chart having optimized size in a popup window. In this window, you have Print and Export features on header part of the window.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, three column layout is displayed in grid section.
View KPI Summary
Purpose: Review the contribution or performance of the capability set/domain/cluster against the defined KPIs or measures.
Customization Options
- Click or tap the trend line chart to see the expanded view of the chart.
- Using the setting icon to change select the date range for data to be included in the display.
- Using the filter icon provided in grid header, you can search and sort grid data.
- Using the export to excel icon provided in grid header, you can export the KPI summary grid data in excel format.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, KPI Summary section group by Measure for selected capability set/Domain/Cluster.
View Assessment of other Objects
Purpose: View the assessment of other objects (Technology, IT Service etc.) against capability model. You can view assessment data at different level (Object/Capability Class/Capability/Capability Question) against capability model.
Customization Options
- Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects, add/remove snapshots.
- Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, grid shows the assessment data of current year, previous year and next year.
View Side-by-side Assessment Comparison
Purpose: Compare capability maturity assessment of multiple objects against capability model. You can view assessment data at different level (Object/Capability Class/Capability/Capability Question) against capability model.
Customization Options
- Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects from comparison. You can set date range using “As-of-date” provided in filter.
- Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, grid shows the comparison of capability maturity assessment data for first three latest objects.
View Assessment Against Other Models
Purpose: Review capability maturity against other capability models.
Customization Options
- Using filter icon provided in grid header, you can add/remove objects, add/remove snapshots.
- Using field chooser icon provided in grid header, you can drag/drop additional field in grid.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, grid shows the assessment data of current year, previous year and next year.
Export Capability Set Details
Purpose: You can export selected Capability Set details. You can export Capability Maturity Model, Capability Questions, Capability POMs, Capability Input/output dependencies and assessment data of selected Capability Set.
Customization Options
- Using filters for Assessment data (Maturity Assessment), you can select snapshots and assessment type to export their assessment data.
Standard (default) Options
- By default, without selecting any information in grid and click on “Apply” button will export Capability Set information and Capability Class information of selected capability set.
Export Details
Download the capability model, practices, dependencies and maturity information into a spreadsheet.
