Fast-Track (Organization) Assessment

Organizations or capability owners who want to quickly assess the capabilities or prefer a workshop (group) based approach, can use Fast-track or Organizational Assessment. The fast-track or organizational assessment can be performed at the IT-CMF level just like an Executive Assessment, or for a critical capability.

Although it is a fast-track assessment, you can still perform analysis and planning, just like any other assessment.

In CAMP, critical capabilities are organized into clusters and domains. The clusters map to macro capabilities in IT-CMF. Each critical capability is also called “Capability Set” in CAMP taxonomy. As per the capability maturity model, each critical capability is organized into categories and capability building blocks (CBBs). Each CBB has one or more questions. Assessments can be performed at CBB or question-level.

Unlike, you don't need to be a system administrator or survey administrator for this assessment. Your system administrator can allow access the menu items to the role your have or assign another role. If you are allowed organizational assessment, you should see Capability Assessment, and potentially a special Executive or High-level Assessment, as choices under Assessment menu.

If you don't see the above menu option, ask your administrator to add survey administrator role or add the above menu items to your current role.

As the name implies, the process for fast-track or organizational assessment is fairly straightforward.

This approach may be sufficient for self-assessment, assessing broad range of capabilities with minimal effort, or conducting a collaborative assessment in a workshop or with a group of people.
  • Organization Assessment - alias for Fast-track assessment. Organization Assessment is a generic name used within the CAMP taxonomy. As it doesn't involve individual assessments, it is assumed to represent the organization view.
  • Valuation Scope - The capabilities are assessed as of a given timeframe. Snapshots (time periods) included in the assessment provide a mechanism to evaluate capabilities across one or more time periods.
